Kudos! My cousins have set very high standard for me.. Both of them get straight A's in their PMR.

Me? CCK got 5A's in his UPSR and I also got 5A's. So, I think I have the confidence to get good results, just like him, in my PMR. Mom says I can excel only if I work harder.

Yeap! I must work as hard as LKL, another straight A's scorer in PMR.

How I celebrated my birthday?

I had an early birthday surprise. Two days before my birthday (Chinese calendar), my maternal grandmother gave me an angpow. Emm.. I have some more money now in my bank account.

My Dad took us out for a birthday dinner for an 'early' celebration. We had our dinner at Gasoline Cafe at Berjaya Times Square. It's not a fantastic dinner although I like that place. We seemed to have walked into Flinstone's house. At first, we wanted to sit in the middle (those with curtains above) but it would not be too comfortable for elderly people like my grandmother,so in the end, we chose to sit at one of the 'caves' (second picture).

I ate a sinful dish.. (as always, Mom said) cheesy chicken chop. Scrumptious!!!

I had another birthday surprise gift. I requested for a 2GB micro SD card but Mom bought me a 4GD one instead !

One thing I don't like about the place is the service is very bad. I also found out my friends have the same opinions of the place too. That may be the first and last time we went there.

Another surprise on my actual birthday. My dad took us to I-City's Snowalk. It was so cold, -5 degrees Celcius. We had to go in and out of the place a few times so that we won't be frozen to death. We were like Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer here. (Ha,ha, as always Mom is camera-shy). My little brother wasn't crying. He was just having too much fun with the ice.

My Dad's Nokia E-72 couldn't work after taking some pictures at Snowalk. We played 2 rides there. One was sliding down on a tyre and another one on a little boat like a short canoe. After playing, we realised the rides were quite dangerous. We also walked around ice-carvings and slid on ice ramps. So much fun..

We love the ice so much that I smuggled a snowball out of Snowalk..Ssshhh.. After that, we had an early dinner at the nearby Old Town. For the first time, I asked for hot Milo.

We were unlucky we couldn't play any of the outdoor rides as it started to drizzle. We also missed the dazzling lights. Whatever it was, I enjoyed my birthday celebration !

My first mobile phone, the Samsung Champ

Finally, I got my mobile phone. Mom says I need a phone out of necessity. There will be times she needs to contact me when we are on outings.

Although she has not bought me the best phone with a lot of functions, I still like my phone. Yes! It's my Samsung Champ!

It has a camera and radio, that's all. No connection to free WIFI, that's what my Mom is looking for. I don't mind as long as I have a phone. I like it as it's a touch phone and the pictures it takes are clear enough on my phone. I can also shoot my own videos with this.

I am still in IGCSE

I didn't score well in this paper in the final examination. Most didn't do well too. But, this is no excuse not to do well. My English teacher told me I will still qualify to be in the IGCSE's English class next year because I did well in the previous terms' tests.

I really don't want to be out of this class, so I hope my teacher is serious about what she told me.

Anyway, I keep my fingers crossed!

This is better than A Famosa Water Theme Park

Wow! What great holidays I had! Not in Australia's Gold Coast but at our Malaysia's water theme park.

No joke, Bukit Gambang Water Park's Coco Beach has the largest wave pool in Malaysia, I mean East Malaysia. Cool man, the waves seem to be bigger than those at Sunway Lagoon's wave pool.

You must try the 6-Lane Racer, said to be the longest slide in Malaysia although I think Sunway's are longer.

Crystal slide

In the crystal tunnel slide, the top is translucent, so we can actually see the outside, very different from the galaxy slide.

It's very dark inside the tunnel and there are lights in it which make it look like we are in galaxy.

Family raft ride
We didn't miss this too although there were only 3 of us. Mom was too intimidated by the sunshine.

Glacier River

We didn't miss 'cruising' on Glacier River. This 'river' is special as it has waves. My brother was scared at certain point of the river when the waves kind of rose quite high, above his height.

The longest indoor tube slide

Lex Rite, that's it, the best ever ride I've ever had indoor.

But, it was too short a ride, maybe less than 20 seconds. Wish it was longer. Whatever it is, it was one of the best 20 seconds and I had a shot at it three times! Not bad, ha.

Cooking up a real dish for the first time

This dish doesn't look as delicious as it tastes

I learnt cooking Japanese curry in a church activity. It's so easy when I saw the brother cooking it for a few of us boys in his apartment.

Mom wasn't convinced that I can cook this dish. Finally, after 'hassling' (she's afraid that I am going to mess up her kitchen) her to buy the ingredients from the supermarket, I was able to cook this dish at home for my family.

My Dad gave me a 'not bad' rating. Mom gave me 'quite nice' rating. Even my little brother who doesn't take spicy food tasted it and quite likes it. My grandma tasted it and said it can be improved.

We went to Cameron Highlands during the one week school holidays. We stayed there for a night. Thanks to Mom, we had a chance to drive up to Gunung Brinchang where we had a magnificent view of the Palas Tea Plantation.

Ten words a day keeps the 'F' away. 'F' stands for Fail la..Don't get me wrong.

My teacher asks us to write ten new Bahasa Malaysia words everyday in our book. And we must also write down the meaning of those words.

Do you think this is a brilliant idea to help me strenghten my vocabulary? Mom definitely thinks so. But, most of the students including me just pick ten words randomly from the dictionary and copy them.

Learning to play guitar

Playing guitar is now one of my latest hobbies. The guitar belongs to my cousins. I wish I can take some lessons but it's not easy getting a 'Yes' from Mom as she's worried that I am not spending enough time on my studies.

Am I going to the top class next year? I don't know. My best friend told me because his brother saw my name on a notice in school recently.

My first IGCSE English assessment

We walked out of the exam hall, our face blank and 'cursing' the test we just sat for. I think it was a high level one, something like for those Form 4 or 5. It was sooooo tough.

Most of us shook our heads when we saw our test papers. Only those who scored at least a B in UPSR can sit for this assessment. We were told that those who scored well (or maybe an A, not so sure) could get into the top 2 classes in MBS. 140 of us sat for the test and only 75 would be placed in the top 2 classes.

Mom and Dad want me to get into the top class in MBS. I am 50/50. I don't mind staying in my current class. After some lecture by Mom, afterall, I think I should strive to get into the top class. Let's see how the result would be.

Who's in shot put!

It was our school's Standard Sports Day. There were a few field events such as 100m, 400m, long jump and shot put.

It was shot put on the first day and it was my first attempt at this sports. I couldn't believe myself. Neither were those teachers and school mates who were watching the event. I managed to get a good score. In fact, I achieved the level for Form 4. Height does not matter,yeah.

My name was jotted down immediately. Some of the teachers present know me. It was a nice feeling. But, I flunked in other events.

Now I know what a cross-country means. It was so exciting and fun.. AND, I was surprised that I was the top 50%.

I passed many of my classmates and schoolmates. It was a tiring run but I continued. It felt so good when I managed to get to the finishing line and knowing that I was not the last. I had performed above my expectation, and my parents' too.

It's not my Mom's hot, tasty and nutritious soup. It came almost as a shock when we (a few of us) were asked whether we were ready for our soup. And, we had to take off our shirt else we would end up like one of those chocolaty but not yummy thing.

It's a ragging day for fresh Boy Scouts. The senior scouts poured buckets of slimy mud on us, juniors. What an experience! But, I don't feel offended. I treat it as fun. We didn't retaliate, just obliged.

I showered in school. Mom wondered how I did that. Anyway, she was screaming when she saw how filthy my shoes and socks were. Fortunately, I didn't have my tee shirt on and my pants were not that dirty.

My first cross-country..What!!!

I was so nervous especially this morning that I will be running cross-country for the first time. It's my school's annual cross-country and it is covering 4.2 km.

I've never run such a long distance in my whole life and that is why I was feeling so nervous. I was afraid that I'd be the last one to finish the race and that I would be lost. I know, I know, I am too timid about this. It's going to be my first experience..so...

Yeh!!! I got 5A's. And I'm so happy about this. I am also the top in my class with another classmate of mine.

I could ride the bicycle in one day. And, of course, I suffered scratches and bruises. I also broke the brake but Dad is not mad because I managed to learn how to ride.

It's a bicycle. This will be the key to my freedom?? Not yet, Mom will 'kill' me if I 'fly' with this bicycle.

Anyway, it's a gift from my Dad. However, Mom has been talking about getting me a bicycle since many,many months ago. And, now Dad said he's getting it for me because of my good results in UPSR. (I have predicted 4'A's for my UPSR). It's a mountain bike.

I got number 2 in my school's first term test to the disbelief of my dad. There was no report book yet to prove to him. Mom asked me to request my teacher to write the result, my academic position in my class and the whole Standard 6, made sure she signed it to show to them.

I have made great improvement and this made Mom very proud. She said if I could keep up with this result, getting 7 A's in UPSR is within easy reach.

The worst day in my life

It's all because of my classmate's fault. He hit me and I hit him back. Later, we were chasing each other in the classroom. Without realising, my left arm got cut by the white board aluminium duster holder while running in front of the whiteboard. A lot of blood dripped from my wound. My left sleeve was stained with blood. My teacher helped to bandage my wound when it had stopped bleeding. My shoe was stained with a little blood. So was my leg. There was a pool of blood in the class. I found out that the monitor cleaned it after that.

My class teacher telephoned my mom. After a short while, my mother appeared in the office to pick me up. As soon as she saw me, she questioned how I got into that trouble. I was sad because my mom scolded me instead of pitying me. Mom explained that she already knew I was not in pain and not bleeding anymore and she was disturbed that I was hurt while playing in the class.

My mom took me to a hospital. It was the worst day when I knew that the doctor may have to stitch my wound. I was crying but my Mom wasn't giving in at all. She said the doctor would give me the necessary treatment best for me. Thank goodness, the doctor said it was just a small wound and needed to only put some glue to close the wound. After that, they gave me an injection to kill any bacteria that might have gone into my bloodstream. It was so painful that I almost cried.

I had three unexpected visitors later in the afternoon. They came to visit me because they were worried about me. Mom said they are my good and thoughtful friends.

Todayis the worst day in my life. I said this many, many times.

I like everything about NARUTO! to the annoyance of my mom, and my dad too.

I have many Naruto comic books, a few DVDs which I earned as a result of my good term test results. I have Naruto play cards, I draw a lot of Naruto comic pictures. And I would be happy just watching Naruto anime on Youtube.

I love singing Naruto song which Mom thinks it sucks. My little brother is also mimicking me and he is also stung by the craze. Oh, I also got a Naruto head band as a birthday gift. Someone tried to take it as his but of course no one can take it away from me.

I finally got them. Now, I have the complete series, all ten of them. We found them at Popular at a mall in Cheras.

I'm so happy that I finally found them. Mom said that these books would last me for a while and I should complete reading all these before she'll buy me my next book.

I did it! I did it! I got a perfert score in Mathematics of the recent test.

My mom couldn't believe it when I told her the good news. I hope I can get such good result in my UPSR exam later.

My mom is so proud that she blogs this as soon as I announced this result to her. Now, she thinks I should sign up for the Olympiad Maths class in my school. But, I am interested in comics class.

Long life water for my grandma

A new leaf

I'm going to turn over a new leaf this year onwards, this is my promise to my Mom and myself. This is my final year in primary school and I am not the same Jun Hoe anymore.

I think my behaviour so far is good. And hopefully, I can achieve my UPSR goal with my new leaf. :)

School has started. A few of my close classmates are also better, they are not as playful as before.

The best holidays so far!

Wow! This is the best holidays so far!

We came back with aching legs and tanned skin.... But, we enjoyed it the most. A Famosa is the best place we've been to. We got wet for four hours under the sun. And, we enjoyed watching the animals.

There were bird show, elephant show and Red Indian show. Oh yes, Wild Wild West was also enjoyable. Actually, I've watched this before about two years ago but not the other shows.

You know what, I want to come here again next year!!

After the normal tuition class, our teacher combined both Standard 5 and 6 students. We had a quiz session. We were divided into 9 groups, all 45 of us.

The questions were about Chinese idioms and proverbs. For each correct answer, a slice of watermelon was given as reward to the group. My group got No. 2. The teacher blended the watermelon and made fruit juice for us.

Mom has been trying to get the English comics of 'Romance of The Three Kingdoms'. But we were told that it is out-of-stock. We went to Popular at Ampang Point, MPH at Jusco, Maluri and Kinokuniya at KLCC but none of these bookstores sell this book.

We regret that we didn't buy the series of this comics at Singapore's Borders. So, now how? Anybody can tell me where I can get this book?

My yo-yo glowed in the dark

Yeap, that was the yo-yo I used during the performance in last week's Primary Six Graduation Ceremony in my school.

There were 14 of us. When in the dark, the yo-yos looked very nice. The crowd was cheering excitedly when we performed on stage. Too bad that my family was not able to be present at the ceremony to see my performance.

198 games in one cartridge! Isn't this great? There are 198 Nintendo games in just one cartridge. I wish that I can have them. But, my Mom insist to see how do I fare as written in my school report book before she decides whether I deserve a new game cartridge for my Gameboy Advance.

I can only get this as a reward if my results improve. I think I have improved compared to last year. So, I should be getting my favourite game.

My Bahasa Malaysia teacher has chosen me to participate in a choral speaking contest and I was given only a few days to memorise the script. It's just a short speech.

My music teacher told me last week that I scored a Distinction in Grade 2 ABRSM theory examination. She checked the result online because the result is going to be posted to us soon.

I'm so happy. And I'm going to ask for a reward from Mom.

I've been selected to be part of my school choir and will be performing at the end of the year.

We will be singing a Mandarin song. Mom wonders why I was selected because of my 'beautiful', I mean 'not so beautiful voice. In fact, I have a husky voice with a very 'tight' vocal chord and my dad said I shouldn't sing at all.

Anyway, I'm trying my best to stretch my vocal chord.

My Fur Elise

I finally can play Fur Elise. Now, that I've passed Grade 2 with distinction, I have been learning this piece since about 2 weeks ago.

I need more practice as I still make mistakes here and there. I've been practising very hard, even my little brother can hum the tune.

Yeh!! I got a distinction in my Grade2 piano practical.

My Mom is really surprised and she's proud of my achievement. Dad is also pleased. I think I got such good result because I played the pieces with expression.

Hair-raising experience

No, we didn't put any hairgel to make our hand stand. We were standing 'in' my uncle's SUV enjoying ourselves at the open sunroof. It was like going through an adventure in a jungle (it's just Frasers' Hill, not any jungle).

While my uncle drive on the winding road exploring the hill resort, my brother and I were having fun ducking long branches that grew from the many trees that we passed by. We also tried to pluck as many leaves as possible whilst we travelled through the greens.

The weather was so cooling and wet from the mist. That's why our hair looked gelled and like standing because I was taking this photo against the wind.

We went to stay for a night at Frasers' Hill. Except for my daddy, this was the first time all of us had been to this place. This hill resort is situated between Cameron Highlands and Genting Highlands.

We came to this place where there is supposed to be a waterfall. But, unfortunately by the time we reach this place it's going to turn dark and we didn't explore further into this park to see the waterfall. We only saw a small stream.

We were also amused by this signboard. I'm sure you know what it means. Mom had explained it to me.

I finally got an A in my Bahasa Malaysia papers

I almost cannot believe it when I got my marked test papers. I got an A (85% and 81%) for both the Bahasa Malaysia (Written and Comprehension) papers! I am the second highest after my Malay friend in my class.

Now that I managed to get A in these papers, this gives me confidence that I can also get A later next year in my UPSR (Assessment for Primary Schools) examination. So, I can make my parents really proud of me.

I want to be a chef

I like to cook, especially, fry eggs. Mom had let me tried before and she thinks I can do it quite well. I told her that I want to be a chef because I like to fry eggs.

Recently, I've been thinking about cooking a lot of food. Someday, I wish to open my own restaurant. Maybe I can create secret recipes.

My first ABRSM theory exam

I sat for Grade 2 ABRSM theory exam yesterday. It was held in a secondary school in Ampang. Mom sent me there with my brother. We reached there about an hour before the exam.

You know what? My seat was right behind of the exam hall. Even though the exam was for one and half hours, I could finish in 40 minutes. The questions are easy la. I think I can get a distinction or the least a merit.

First time sitting for piano practical exam

My piano Grade 2 practical exam was held in a nice hotel in KLCC. We were there quite early about 45 minutes before the exam.

All parents and students were asked to wait in a room. Before my turn, my name was called and I was asked to wait outside a room. The examiner was a kind Caucasian man. He returned my greeting and also asked me how was I doing.

I think I didn't play that well because my palms were sweaty. I made one mistake each for the 3 music pieces that I played. Arghh... But, I answered all the oral questions correctly. I didn't do well in the sight reading.

I don't think I can get a distinction. Merit is 50:50.

Next time, I want to do better!

I was at Jesus Hill

Can you find me in the picture? This is the statue of Jesus taken at a mountain called Jesus Hill in Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. It is as tall as a tall building at 32 metres. We had to climb up a spiraling staircase to get to the peak.

Here, we were posing for the camera at the shoulder of the statue. The view from the top is breathtaking.

I'm going to sit for piano exam

I'm going to sit for piano ABRSM Grade 2 practical exam in less than 2 weeks time. My teacher said I can surely pass. Well, I don't know and I'm not sure. I can play the exam pieces quite well. In fact, my teacher said I'm good.

Hopefully, I can really pass. Then, I'll be going to Grade 3.

I feel like learning another musical instrument. Mom said No! until I have mastered piano to at least Grade 5, this is also what my piano teacher says.

Mom says learning violin can be expensive because the violin needs to be changed when the student grows bigger.

Are you ready for this? Believe it or not! KLKK could fix spoilt electrical stuff at home. So far, he had fixed the blender and video tape rewinder (yeah, we are still old-fashioned) that his Mom wanted to throw.

He would dismantle the electrical stuff, fix them and later assemble them. Then, the stuff can work as normal, making his Mom soooo proud.

Can you help me to fix my spoilt watches, clock, robot toys, water gun and fan? He can also sing too. Watch out for his concert......

She may be small and thin but don't underestimate her. She can play basketball and even won a few gold medals. And she is very fierce too. She is a prefect in school and knows no fear of older students.

The first picture shows CMK (No. 12) in action in a recent basketball match. She's the one in the middle holding her gold medal. Very proud ....

She is very busy taking part in a lot of competitions and events such as basketball interclass, gymrama test, gym performance for children's day and 2 gymnastic competitions.

I found this book in the bookstore and immediately asked my Mom to buy it for me. I was very excited when I knew that this book is also available in English.

This is the second book from the same series of Chinese legend which I bought last time. But, this one is a comic and is in English. It's very easy to understand and I've finished reading it. I'm asking my Mom to buy me other stories in the same series.

This is the first song I learn when I got the new piano. At first, I didn't play it well but after a lot of practice, I can play it much better. I have to keep increasing the speed of the song.

I didn't know the name of this song until a student played this song during the concert and the teacher announced the name of this piece.

This is the first time I play snooker. And, we played it at Equatorial Hotel in Cameron Highlands when we stayed there for a short holiday.

Daddy was giving me a short lesson on snooker. The trick is to rest the stick on your finger.

My encounter with James Lee, author of Mr Midnight

I was with my family at the Bookfest at KLCC. Guess who was there too? It's the author of Mr Midnight series books, James Lee.

He was on stage and inviting kids to go up to talk with him. My parents encouraged me to go up and I picked up my guts and went up. Mom didn't shoot the earlier part of what we said on stage.
